Formthotics Foot Science are entering an exciting phase of accelerating global growth and are seeking an enterprise-level Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to partner with the CEO and Board to drive performance, governance, and long-term value creation.
The Opportunity
As CFO and 2IC to the CEO, this newly created position will play a key leadership role in helping shape and scale an ambitious and growing global business. Alongside strategic commercial and financial leadership, you'll provide leadership of shared service functions including Finance, Quality & Regulatory, and Systems, ensuring the business has the capability, governance, information and controls required to support continued growth.
Working closely with the CEO, Board and Senior Leadership Team, you'll act as a trusted advisor, commercial partner and enterprise leader. You'll help drive strategy, organisational performance, governance and business improvement while supporting the execution of key growth initiatives across international markets.
This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded executive who enjoys influencing outcomes across an entire organisation and contributing well beyond the finance function. The right candidate will bring a global growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a bias for action, combined with the pragmatism and humility to work effectively across every level of the business and across global cultures.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and Board on strategic planning and decision-making
- Provide commercial insights that support growth and long-term value creation
- Lead business planning, forecasting and performance management processes
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable business outcomes
- Deliver clear and meaningful performance reporting and analysis
- Evaluate investment opportunities and support capital allocation decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and scalability
- Support business growth initiatives both in New Zealand and internationally
- Provide executive oversight of quality and regulatory systems across global markets.
- Ensure the organisation maintains robust compliance frameworks and risk controls.
- Drive continuous improvement of quality systems and regulatory capability as a core competitive advantage
- Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and risk management practices
- Oversee statutory reporting, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements
- Support effective Board governance and decision-making processes
- Ensure systems, reporting, and business processes keep pace with growth
- Drive continuous improvement across finance and related business functions
- Champion data-driven decision-making across the organisation
- Lead and develop a high-performing shared service team
- Contribute positively to executive team culture and organisational capability
- Build strong relationships and influence across all areas of the business to align priorities, remove barriers and improve delivery urgency.
- Drive a culture of data-driven decision making, continuous improvement and accountability
You'll be an experienced CFO or senior commercial leader who combines strong commercial judgement with the ability to build trusted relationships at executive and Board level.
You'll bring:
- CA qualification (or equivalent)
- Senior leadership experience in a complex business environment
- Experience supporting CEOs, Boards, and executive teams
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capability
- Experience operating within international, manufacturing, or regulated (quality process and compliance) environments
- Experience leading functions beyond finance, such as quality, regulatory, systems, governance or business services.
- Sound understanding of governance, risk, and regulatory requirements
- The ability to balance big-picture thinking with practical execution
- An engaging, collaborative leadership style
