Formthotics™ is now seeking an exceptional Medical Director to lead their global clinical, scientific and medical strategy.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership role will define and lead Formthotics™ global clinical and scientific direction.

As Medical Director, you will act as the organisation’s clinical authority, ensuring products, research, education and communications remain evidence-based, credible and clinically respected across national and international markets.

This role sits at the intersection of clinical practice, product innovation, research and professional education, offering the opportunity to influence lower limb health at a global level.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership
  • Define and articulate Formthotics™ global clinical philosophy across lower limb injury, pathology, rehabilitation and performance
  • Represent Formthotics™ in international professional, scientific and industry forums
  • Ensure that all clinical guidance, claims and educational materials are evidence-based and ethically sound
  • Maintain clinical grounding to ensure real-world relevance
Product & Innovation
  • Provide clinical leadership for product design and development
  • Integrate biomechanics, force modulation and neuromuscular principles into product innovation
  • Support clinical oversight aligned with MDR and ISO 13485 medical device frameworks
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, research and competitor approaches
Research & Evidence
  • Develop and lead a global clinical research strategy
  • Establish partnerships with universities and research institutions.
  • Translate research into practical tools clinicians can use to demonstrate patient outcomes
  • Ensure that evidence supports regulatory compliance and professional adoption
Education & Professional Engagement
  • Develop a globally scalable CPD-accredited clinical education framework
  • Create high-quality clinical resources including webinars, research summaries and whitepapers
  • Support a network of clinical educators and key opinion leaders internationally
  • Maintain the independence and credibility of professional education
Clinical Governance
  • Provide final clinical oversight of medical and scientific claims
  • Support regulatory, risk and post-market processes
  • Ensure patient outcomes and ethical standards remain central to decision-making.
About You

You are an experienced clinician with deep expertise in lower limb health and movement science, and operate confidently across clinical, academic and commercial environments.

Essential
  • Clinical qualification in podiatry, physiotherapy, sports medicine, orthopaedics or related discipline
  • Significant clinical experience in lower limb health
  • Strong ability to critically evaluate and apply research
  • Experience working alongside product development and/or medical devices
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
Highly Desirable
  • Experience working in regulated medical device environments (MDR / ISO 13485)
  • Research leadership or active academic collaboration
  • Experience designing and delivering clinical education programmes
  • Exposure to global or multi-market environments
