The Opportunity

Probuild ITM is seeking an experienced Trade Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of trade and commercial customers. This is a hands-on sales role focused on strong relationships, disciplined sales execution, and developing new business within the local construction market.

About the Role

As a Trade Account Manager, you will be responsible for building long-term partnerships with builders, contractors, and commercial customers. You’ll work closely with the Sales Manager and internal teams to deliver reliable service, identify growth opportunities, and ensure customers have the right products and support to succeed on their projects.

This role plays a key part in strengthening Probuild ITM’s market presence through consistent customer engagement and results-driven account management.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management
  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of trade, commercial, and key accounts
  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships through regular site visits and proactive engagement
  • Understand customer businesses, project pipelines, and purchasing behaviours
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally
  • Work closely with dispatch, operations, estimating, and instore teams to ensure smooth service delivery
Sales Execution
  • Achieve individual sales targets aligned with branch and company objectives
  • Prepare accurate quotes, tenders, and pricing proposals
  • Promote Probuild ITM’s full product range, including timber, building materials, hardware, and specialist products
  • Follow up on quotes, leads, and opportunities to maximise conversion
  • Work with suppliers to stay informed on products, pricing, and promotions  
Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new trade and commercial business opportunities
  • Develop and grow new customer accounts within the local market
  • Attend industry events, trade mornings, and supplier functions
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and report progress to the Sales Manager
Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales records in CRM systems
  • Provide regular reports on sales activity, pipeline, and performance
  • Ensure compliance with pricing, credit, and company policies
  • Support stock management and ongoing product knowledge development
About You

You are a motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys being out in the market and working closely with customers.

You will bring:
  • 2–3+ years’ experience in trade sales, account management, or a similar role
  • Experience in building supplies, trade merchant, or construction-related industries (preferred)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A results-driven mindset with strong follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Confidence using CRM systems, quoting tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Sound product or construction knowledge (advantageous)
