The Opportunity
Our client has truly made their mark in their near 10 years of operation - they punch above their weight in terms of the quality of their customer base, along with the complexity, variety and size of jobs they are working on any given day.

Providing comprehensive support across a wide range of industries and machinery, they work to keep their customer's large scale roading and infrastructure projects humming!

The company is now at a stage where the MD needs to step away from some of the day-to-day operational tasks and hand over responsibility to a seasoned manager of process, customer service and team leadership. And much more!

About the Role
You will be managing the day-to-day operations of a small (but growing) workshop team. Allocating workload, coordinating resources, customer liaison, delivering projects on time and within budget, and never at the expense of quality will keep you on your toes and never bored.

  • Operational coordination: serve as the main point of contact both internally with the team and externally with commercial partners - an open communication style and the ability to resolve issues is critical
  • Project oversight: from small projects through to large scale work, drive timeliness requirements and deliver within budget
  • Quality Assurance - lead the charge in relation to setting a high benchmark for delivering quality outcomes while working within compliance and health & safety frameworks
  • Process Optimisation - identify and implement improvements in workflow, operational processes and resource management to increase overall efficiency
  • Budget management: monitor operational costs and work closely with Finance to manage budgets effectively
  • Parts: responsible for stock management and ordering
  • New jobs: scoping and quoting jobs within company guidelines around delivery timelines and profitability
  • Reporting & Analysis: regularly prepare and present reporting on operational performance, with a focus on productivity, project completion status and cost-effectiveness
