Service Advisor
Our client, a well-established South Christchurch based engineering company is looking for an experienced Service Advisor to join them in a newly created role.
The Opportunity:
- Customer Service - be the portal to the service department with customers by providing great service and being A+ with your communication
- Co-ordinate – there will be a lot of balls in the air at all times – bring your juggling skills
- Administer – lead the way in terms of recording accurate and timely information that backs up the activity undertaken by the wider team
No two days are the same, but essentially you will be the glue that holds customer service satisfaction together while supporting the Service Manager and working closely with the Service Administrator.
You will be the face of the Service Department and will drive best practice to ensure customers have a smile on their face after their job has been completed.
There will also be a strong administrative focus to the role requiring attention to detail and systematic ways of working.

- See each job through the entire process i.e. deal with the customer when the job starts (including any pre-arrangements) right through to conclusion/collection
- Efficiently deal with customer queries
- Maintain accurate information on the progress of each job
- Communicate with customers on estimated costs, pricing, options, timeframes and progress updates
- Arrange supply of required parts – know what stock is on hand and what needs ordering
- Be the driver behind promoting and maintaining efficient workflow and productivity
- Track “Work in Progress” and be an active participant in Weekly WIP meetings
- Work closely with the Service Manager keeping him up to date on all matters of significance
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall company efficiency and performance
Ideally you will tick some or all these boxes:
- A can-do attitude (nothing is a problem!)
- Excellence in customer service mindset
- Confident and clear communication skills
- Experience working in a similar fast-paced and critical role
- An affinity for working in a trades environment (a bonus if you have worked in the industry or something similar)
- Computer literate including experience working with a CRM system
- An eye for detail and numerically sound
- Fun to be around and enjoy some banter in your workday
