Finance Administrator - Part time
About us:
Our client is a dedicated healthcare provider based in Christchurch and focused on delivering exceptional service to their community. As they continue to grow, they’re seeking a meticulous and proactive Part time Finance Administrator to support their financial function and play a vital role in the clinic’s performance and development. This role will be 15 hours per week with the flexibility to increase to 20 hours occasionally as required.
About the opportunity:
As Finance Administrator, you'll work closely with the Finance Lead to ensure that the clinic’s financial operations are completed accurately, in line with legislation and good business practice and in a timely manner. You'll also contribute to performance reporting and help maintain strong financial controls to support the clinic's ongoing success.
Your key responsibilities:
- Processing accounts payable/receivable and banking transactions within delegated authority
- Preparing and filing PAYE and GST returns (IRD) on time
- Assisting with month-end financial reporting and reconciliations (MYOB)
- Managing service payments and ensuring accurate invoicing
- Supporting the development and implementation of financial policies and processes
- Contributing to debt management and special project work
- Liaising with third-party financial service providers
- Preparing reports across budgeting and financial performance
- Ensuring all records and reporting meet legal and policy standards
- Attending relevant meetings to facilitate communication and front-foot and resolve issues.
You will have relevant business administration or finance experience working in a professional environment. You will be committed to working to company policy regarding the Treaty of Waitangi.
You will also be someone who brings:
- Strong experience in accounting and financial admin (MYOB proficiency is a plus)
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Understanding of NZ financial legislation and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and suggest improvements
