EQ Consultants is excited to be partnering with Metalworld in the search for the crucial role of Sales Engineer. Offering full end to end metalwork capability for a diverse customer base, Metalworld have been "making it better since 1989".

Metalworld work across the private and public sectors throughout New Zealand, manufacturing to contract as well as partnering with clients to design and manufacture bespoke products from scratch.

The Opportunity
  • This is a "face of the business" role where you will be providing first class service to Metalworld clients
  • Collaborate and be a key player working alongside the Production Manager, CAD Designer and Managing Director

About the Role

As the Sales Engineer you will be the first point of contact for clients - the role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships (externally and internally) while ensuring that your technical knowledge is put to the best use for all parties concerned.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships from inquiry to delivery
  • Provide technical advice and solutions
  • Interpret drawings for feasibility
  • Provide quotations
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements 
  • Stay up to date with all things technical - CNC, laser, welding capabilities
  • Reporting - trends, pipeline conversions, sales performance
About You
  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and/or 5+ years' experience in sheet metal fabrication (steel and aluminium)
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM systems
  • Sound knowledge of CNC machinery, welding processes, laser cutting, sheet metal processes, welding
  • Experience with pricing software
  • CRM skilled (you will be the company champion!) and ability to provide quotations and manage data
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to negotiate, and relate easily to a broad client base
  • Solutions focused mindset
  • You are all about using your time effectively, can prioritise, and are known for your organisational abilities
  • Tenacious and resilient by nature
