Running and raising awareness of Movember

We are seeing some spectacular moustaches from clients and colleagues - all raising awareness of men's health, both mental and physical.

Among them is our team member Josh Winter who has been sporting a 'tache this month and most recently completed the Molesworth half marathon as part of his challenge to run 60km throughout November.

The Molesworth Station is New Zealand's largest high country station and is located in the upper half of the South Island. The ultra running event runs from the Molesworth Cob Cottage to Hanmer Springs through the Molesworth Station on November 21st.

Josh and his team rose to the challenge and completed it over the weekend. So far Josh has raised more than $200 and ran 62km for Movember.

Movember is a charity dedicated to improving men's health, particularly the following:

  • Mental health & suicide prevention
  • Prostate cancer
  • Testicular cancer

By 2030 they aim to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.

Steve Kennedy, MD of EQ Consultants said: "Well done Josh for your fantastic efforts and raising the profile of men's health. Movember is much more than moustaches. Good mental and physical health is essential and too often symptoms can be overlooked or misread. Look out for those around you, in and outside of the workplace - a 'how are you doing?' conversation can go a long way."

Josh Winter said: "Mental health is something that us blokes are getting better and better at talking about but there is still a long way to go. I'm growing the moustache and lacing up for all the dads, brothers, sons, and mates in our lives. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the cause so far."
