Are you complying with the latest Holidays Act legislation? Event to help New Zealand businesses

Businesses and individuals from across Christchurch, Canterbury, and beyond, will be able to learn about latest legislation surrounding the Holidays Act at a public event this November.

What are the current requirements and is your business adhering to them? If you’re not sure of the answers to these questions, this event is for you. Organised by the Canterbury HRINZ branch, the Holidays Act Compliance event is being presented by Vik Lakhera, a Labour Inspector and specialist in the Holidays Act. She will be giving an informative and contemporary session on the Holidays Act following recent legislative changes.

The session will cover various elements, including The Labour Inspectorate’s current position and strategic approach going forward, recent legislative changes, current trends, Holidays Act scenario, and where to get information and guidance on the Holidays Act calculations.

HR representatives are being encouraged to attend the event, which is being hosted by Duncan Cotterill's Christchurch branch on Wednesday 22nd November from 5.30pm to 6.45pm at the Duncan Cotterill Board Room.

Viv Patterson, member of HRINZ Canterbury and Principal Consultant at EQ Consultants, said: “This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the Labour Inspector. The government’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment are being a lot stricter around compliance, especially around salaries and wages.

“The event is open to both members and non-members and we would encourage you to come along because if you are not compliant, the trend at the moment is for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment to impose a fine.”

The event costs $25 to attend, $20 for HRINZ members. To book your place or for more information, please visit https://goo.gl/Xkha7u - you will need to create a free profile, if you do not already have one.
