This letter is a very helpful tool that can be used to vary an existing employment agreement. For example, your business may need to relocate, or there may be changes in the law requiring you to increases an employee’s wage. Any changes to an employee’s terms and conditions must be recorded. A variation letter is an alternative to issuing a new employment agreement. It is typically used when there is a variation to any terms of conditions of employment ie hourly rate, location, change in hours of work, extension of fixed term agreement.
