This is one of those rare occasions when an exceptional opening presents itself for an experienced General Manager wanting the opportunity to positively influence the effectiveness of a large General Practice and Urgent Care Clinic.

As the first independent after-hours medical practice in Christchurch, Riccarton Clinic has continued to extend their range of services, and now also houses many allied health organisations. They pride themselves on being dynamic in ensuring that they always meet the healthcare needs of their community.

The Directors are looking to appoint a General Manager to provide leadership and a shared responsibility for the strategic as well as the day-to-day operational management of Riccarton Clinic. They seek interest from applicants with current relevant experience, ideally in a related health industry.

Key functions of this role include:    

Strategic:
- Preparation and execution of the Annual Business Plan.
- Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies for the business in conjunction with the Directors.
- Grow the enrolled population by becoming known for excellence of care.
- Proactively engage with stakeholders.  

Finance:
- Plan, manage, coordinate and monitor Riccarton Clinic’s financial position, ensuring financial and operational performance and compliance.
- Recommend annual budget for Board approval, prudently managing resources within budget guidelines.
- Oversee the management of all patient funding streams.

IT, Systems & Facilities:
- Oversee the company's IT systems and Practice Management software.
- Ensure that the site is fully tenanted and that leases are legally compliant.  

HR & Leadership:
- Provide effective leadership that creates a high-performance culture.   

Quality & Risk:
- Oversee quality control, risk management and continuous improvement.   

Patient Services & Care:
- Oversee and ensure excellence in patient services.

To be successful in this position, we seek interest from applicants who can demonstrate:    
  • Relevant qualification in business or related field.
  • Significant business management experience, ideally within the medical / health sector in a senior role (General Management).
  • High level of business acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Articulate, able to cope with a demanding role and to create and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
