Position Overview:

As the Accounting Manager, you will undertake the administration and preparation of accounts of the NZDA and associated entities. This part time position (25 hours) will operate independently, while working and aligning with a wide variety of NZDA staff and taking additional guidance from NZDA’s accountants and auditors.

Key Responsibilities:   
  • Receive, document and arrange payment of invoices; prepare invoices for payment by debtors
  • Manage staff payroll and office bearer payments
  • Prepare end of month financial statements for the NZDA as well as end of year financial statements to audit standard
  • Prepare annual budget in conjunction with the preparation of the annual business plan
  • Administer and manage accounts for NZDA associated entities
Requirements:   
  • Previous experience in preparing and administering accounts in a small to medium business or organisation
  • Experience in the preparation of financial reports/statements to audit standard
  • Strong computer skills – particularly excel – and proficient in the use of computerised accounting systems
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of databases
  • High level of interpersonal skills, and able to communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds
  • High level of personal conduct that maintains and enhances the professional reputation of the NZDA  
This is a pivotal part time position within NZDA, which operates out of their own modern, purpose-built facility in Ellerslie, Auckland. The team are collegial, and the role is well remunerated.
